As I begin this year of living nutritiously, I tip the scale at about 300 pounds, give or take. I am an insulin-resistant Type II diabetic with all the co-morbidities a diabetic complex suggests. Also, I have a dash of complicating inflammatory auto-immune conditions like psoriatic arthritis and gout.
While I do go to physical therapy and ride a stationary semi-recumbent bike regularly, I am mostly sedentary. I’d like to move more, but the diabetic neuropathies and the arthritis get in the way.
By blogging about my experiences, I hope to focus more on eating nutritious foods and improving my health, including level of activity. I’d like to lose weight, but that is a secondary goal at best. If some pounds come off along the way, that will be an extra gift.
